Choose a margin you can explain
Switch to Find selling price, enter your costs and your target profit margin, then fill in the fees that apply to your product. A margin is the portion of selling price left as profit after the entered costs.
The calculation behind the result
Required price = [product + packaging + advertising + return allowance + (fixed fee + shipping) × (1 + fee-tax rate)] ÷ [1 − commission rate × (1 + fee-tax rate) − target margin]. Percentages are expressed as decimals. The final price rounds up to the nearest paisa.
Check the break-even point
Break-even uses the same formula with a target margin of zero. It covers only the costs you entered. If you have overheads such as storage, salaries, or software, include a suitable per-order allowance in your costing process.
Leave room for returns
Estimate return cost from your own history. For example, an average ₹80 unrecovered cost on 10% of orders represents an ₹8 allowance per order. Treat this as a planning estimate, not an exact prediction.
If commission and your target margin consume all available revenue, the tool cannot produce a viable price. Lower the target, review fees, or improve costs.
Recheck before changing listings
Some fees change with the selling price. This simple model uses a percentage and fixed amounts; re-enter the correct fee slab whenever the suggested price crosses a marketplace threshold.
